The production was a joint collaboration of the actors in Semič. There were Potokar, Presetnik, Gale and Starc, and Vida Levstik as the new addition to the Semič group. Dušan Moravec wrote about A Marriage Proposal as follows: »... a witty comedy whose acting also marked the biggest success of the week. Witty and flowing dialogue, a satirical edge exposing the rotten state of affairs in Tzarist Russia, Klopčič's skilled translation, Potokar's direction pulling it all together into a coherent whole. Vida Levstik ... is capable, in her voice as well as in acting, of a great range of registers and precision of expression of demanding emotional nuances .... She deserves to be seen in a bigger role soon.« (Jože Gale, Actors Came, 1996) Later Draga Ahačič took on her part. The Partisans enjoyed the acting of their comrades. »We felt as though one shouldn't forget that Partisans, all their trials and tribulations notwithstanding, are also very happy people.« (Filip Kalan, The Wind of Joy, 1975).
